As a functional medicine practice, we address the whole patient.

Beyond exploring lifestyle factors to identify the root cause of chronic disease we frequently use advanced lab testing. Knowing about the various available lab tests, which tests to order, and how to interpret the results requires years of experience. This level of service is seldom offered in the traditional medical office.

We use an array of specialty labs to evaluate conditions such as intestinal permeability, food reactivity, autoimmune risk, and lymphocyte dysfunction. Moreover, we use specialty labs to detect mycotoxins, heavy metals, and mineral deficiencies.
The test results help aid our diagnosis and guide our treatment recommendations.

Organic Acid Test

Organic acids are metabolic intermediates produced in pathways of central energy production, detoxification, neurotransmitter breakdown, and intestinal microbial activity. Accumulation of specific organic acids in urine often signals a metabolic inhibition or block. This abnormality may be due to a nutrient deficiency, an inherited enzyme deficit, toxic build-up, or drug effect.

Doctors Data: Heavy Metals Testing

Analysis of toxic metals in urine after the administration of a metal detoxification agent is a good way to evaluate the accumulation of toxic metals. Acute metal poisoning is rare. More common is chronic, low-level exposure to toxic metals that can be associated with a vast array of adverse health effects and chronic disease. Let’s get you tested.

Great Plains Laboratory: Mold Exposure

The MycoTOX profile, or Mold Exposure profile screens for eleven different mycotoxins, from 40 species of mold, in one urine sample. Mycotoxins are some of the most prevalent toxins in the environment. Mycotoxins are metabolites produced by fungi like mold, which can infest buildings, vehicles, and foodstuffs. A majority of mycotoxin exposures are through food ingestion or airborne exposure.
