About Dr. Sunshine

Dr. Sunshine chose medicine as his path to help people live healthy, pain-free lives. He is the son of a retired physician who always found joy in his profession. His father’s enthusiasm and commitment inspired Dr. Sunshine to embrace a similar career and work ethic. Developing close relationships with his patients and their families are often the result.

As a seasoned triathlete, Dr. Sunshine leads by example. He only asks his patients what he would be willing to do himself. Becoming your best self requires making positive, health-supporting daily choices and acting upon them. He advocates teaching “skills, not pills,” supporting patients in reaching their health objectives through a shift in mindset, consistent physical activity, and wholesome nutrition.

Dr. Sunshine cares for diverse patients, including athletes, sports enthusiasts, performance artists, and hard-working professionals. He advocates for regenerative medicine over a band-aid, medicated approach. Regenerative medicine is a broad field that includes tissue engineering integrated with functional medicine that supports self-healing. This approach has demonstrated remarkable outcomes in addressing activity-related injuries.

OC Sports and Wellness has transformed into a Concierge Medicine (Direct Primary Care) practice. Dr. Sunshine selected this membership model to offer healthcare that is accessible, straightforward, and affordable, while providing exceptional one-on-one attention and personalized planning.

In addition, Dr. Sunshine serves as a volunteer faculty at USC Keck School of Medicine and UCI School of Medicine. With over two decades of experience as a volunteer faculty member, he has guided and impacted many medical students, aiding their preparation for medical careers.
